This new part-time post will be based in the Council's office in Briar Close, with the Parish Clerk, but there is flexibility for working from home. Wye Barn Dance - take your partners please!

Abbey Capers Barn Dance Band will play very live music at Wye Village Hall, Saturday 7th October. This Barn Dance is an informal family event in which everyone, however young or old, can join in and enjoy together. Entrance is by ticket in advance only. The doors will open 18.30 - 22.30.

Macmillan invites you to join in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning today, Friday 29th September, at the Wye Cricket Club Pavilion, Horton Meadow, Wye.

The importance of the Wye Neighbourhood Plan main objective of a 'walkable village' was clear today, as were the constraints of Wye's medieval roads and the ageing infrastructure underneath them. A skillful HGV driver only managed to get through the village by inching his 13' wide load up Scotton Street, with it projecting over the top of a parked car. WYE3 comment deadline extended to 12.00 noon Monday 18th September

Following the public exhibition 7th September on the WYE3 draft masterplan for the former Wye College site, and the intervention of the Wye ward member, Ashford Borough Council has extended the deadline for public comments to 12.00 noon Monday 18th September 2017. The WYE3 site extends across 44 acres of the former Wye College campus. WYE3 includes all the medieval Grade I, and Grade II* buildings, which is also a Scheduled Monument, and the Edwardian Grade II buildings.. Read More »

Wye High Street obstructed

Since the start of this term a fleet of Wye School coaches have taken to parking for up to an hour a day on double yellow lines in Wye High Street. This daily obstruction between the church gate and the Latin School is preventing Stagecoach bus services from using the Wye Church bus stop, as the photograph shows. Ward member Cllr Noel Ovenden has made sure that the manager of Ashford Borough Council's Parking Services Team is fully aware of this situation, and the road safety.. Read More »

A2070 Kennington Road reopened after 11 weeks of roadworks

Kent County Council reopened the A2070 Kennington Road, near Blackwall Road North today as planned, after 11 weeks of closure for roadworks. Just in time for the start of the new school year.

The Spirit of Wye takes first prize

The overall winner for 'The Spirit of Wye' was Michael Gilburt, for his wonderful collage of Wye people and places.

The village photo competition entitled 'My Wye' was aimed at encouraging villagers to submit photos of the village, its buildings, its inhabitants and just about any other aspect of living in Wye that appealed, to a competition to be judged by the internationally celebrated wildlife photographer, Steve Bloom, who lives in the village..
