Job Reference Number: 16001903

The aim of the project is to provide the inspiration to celebrate and record the cultural, social, and natural heritage value of the Ash tree, in engaging and extraordinary ways, before our Ash trees might be lost from our lives and landscapes. The project brings heritage and the arts together to engage people to understand, experience, record, celebrate and value the natural and cultural heritage of Ash trees and Ash woodlands. The project includes a major arts commission working with the artists Ackroyd and Harvey and a wide participation programme.

As a member of the Kent Downs AONB Unit you will be employed through Kent County Council and benefit from KCC pay scales and conditions.

Primarily financed through the Arts Council England Grants for the Arts and Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). The Ash Project is a cultural response to the impact of Ash Dieback, a disease which is expected to kill most of Britain's Ash trees.
