Pilgrims Hospices Death Cafe

Pilgrims Hospices Death Cafe

Sat, 13 Oct 2018 10:00

What is a Death Cafe?

A Death Cafe is a relaxed, informal way to come together and talk about death and dying. It's not a bereavement or counselling session, but rather a safe space to talk about a subject we often avoid as part of our daily conversations.

Our Death Cafes are lively, full of laughter and fascinating discussions.

The Death Cafe movement was set up in 2011 by Jon Underwood from his home in East London. Jon believed that a Death Cafe could be a safe and informal space for people to come together and talk about death over coffee and cake. This idea took off and has since spread around the world; perhaps its popularity is due to how often we avoid talking about death as part of our daily lives.

For more information on Death Cafes visit: Deathcafe.com

While this event is free we will ask for a £2.50 donation to cover the venue cost. Refreshments will be provided.
