The war memorial will be the focus of remembrance in Wye at 11.00 Sunday 11th November. This year, as Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday coincide, the ceremony with half muffled bells, the two minute silence and the laying of wreaths as an act of remembrance will take place 100 years to the minute after the Armistice. The planning application 17/1646/AS for 14 three storey dwellings on the former Wye Goods Yard site will be decided by an Inspector, not by Ashford Borough Council. Without warning KCC has issued a temporary road closure notice for a week to enable repairs to a dangerous inspection cover in the High Street Wye, opposite the former Wye College Porters Lodge. Parish councillors met 29th March at short notice to consider their first impressions of the Draft WYE3 Masterplan, which Ashford Borough Council (ABC) issued earlier in the week.
